STA, 7 May 2018 - The number of unemployed registered with Slovenia's Employment Service dropped below the 80,000 mark in April, the lowest seen for the past nine years.
STA, 4 May 2018 - The Slovenian government has assessed the EU Commission's proposal for the 2021-2027 EU budget framework as ambitious, noting that the overall amount is comparable to the current multi-year budget despite Brexit. It has, however, warned about what it believes are excessive cuts of rural development funds.
STA, 3 May 2018 - Slovenia is in the second place among the Council of Europe (CoE) members in the number of recommendations from the Group of States against Corruption (GRECO), the CoE's anti-corruption monitoring body. STA, 3 May - The European Commission has further upgraded Slovenia's growth outlook in its spring forecast, by 0.5 points to 4.7% for this year. In 2019, the country's GDP is to expand by 3.6%, up 0.1 point from the February forecast. Both figures are significantly above the eurozone average.
STA, 1 May 2018 - Economic situation in Slovenia has improved but not because of the government, according to Marjan Trobiš, the president of the Employers' Association (Združenje delodajalcev Slovenije, ZDS, the Association of Employers of Slovenia). He believes the country will not be able to sustain the positive business trends without foreign workforce.

STA, 25 April 2018 – More than 14,000 Slovenian tax residents have bank accounts abroad, according to data available to the Financial Administration (FURS). Some of them are tax debtors and some report income that ranks them in the lowest income tax bracket. The record holder among the latter has EUR 7.6m stashed away in an overseas account.
