An interesting documentary from Deutsche Welle English, with the filmmakers returning to Slovenia after more than a decade to see what changed in the country since joining the EU, getting out of Ljubljana and catching up with some of the previous interview subjects. A good counterpoint to the “hidden gem” stories that often focus on the beauty and affordability of the country for visitors or expats who make considerably more than the average wage in Slovenia and always have the option of leaving.
