Plečnik wasn’t the only architect who designed Ljubljana.
Sandi Gorišek is a mechanical engineer by training and profession, working on projects that often take him out of the country. By chance he was working in America just as Melania Trump was entering public consciousness there, and soon grew tired of being asked the same questions again and again.
While others may have just waved off all inquiries, Mr Gorišek, who fizzes with energy and ideas, decided to do something more. So he wrote and published a short book on the woman who was born Melanija Knavs – in Novo mesto, not Sevnica – and the world she grew up in. STA, 23 May 2018 - China's Hisense, which published its intent for the acquisition of Gorenje on 11 May, acquired more than 20% of the household appliance maker outside of the stock market in recent days and currently holds a 22.56% stake, the business daily Finance reports today.
STA, 23 May 2018 - Slovenia's pharma group Krka posted EUR 338.3m in sales in the first quarter of the year, an all-time quarterly high and a 5% increase on the same period last year. Net profit was up by 16% to EUR 49.4m.
