STA, 14 August 2018 - Five prominent public figures have addressed an open letter to MPs ahead of Friday's vote in which Marjan Šarec is expected to be appointed prime minister-designate, putting forward two alternative proposals to form a government.
The key point is this: if the Left is part of the opposition then it has an oversight role that it wouldn't have as part of the coalition, but by offering to support the coalition it seems to give up it's oversight duty. Much more detail follows below...

STA, 14 August 2018 - Matej Tonin reiterated his pledge on Tuesday to step aside as speaker of parliament "on the day when a new government will be sworn in", asserting that such was the deal when he was appointed on 22 June. However, if the incoming coalition change their minds, he will not defy them.

STA, 14 August 2018 - Knauf, the multinational whose insulation division includes Knauf Insulation Škofja Loka, has announced the construction of a new factory in Malaysia. The investment, estimated at EUR 120m, is also expected to benefit Knauf's Slovenian subsidiary, which is responsible for sales in that part of the world.
STA, 13 August 2018 - A 19-year-old Polish man, who crashed into a police car during a Hollywood-style car chase in the Koper area last Monday, has been arrested in Italy and handed over to the Slovenian authorities.
