Have you been having problems keeping your mailbox clear of junk mail? Have you accidentally thrown away an important letter that was hiding in the mess of brochures, coupons and flyers? Have you tried to solve the problem by talking to the postman in person, or by sticking a handwritten or printed message saying “no junk mail” on your mail box, and all to no avail?
That is because the only language your postman understands in this regard is that of a small yellow sticker, issued by the Agency for Communication Networks and Services of the Republic of Slovenia (AKOS). The sticker costs 42 cents and can be bought at any post office in Slovenia. Just ask for “nalepka: prepoved reklam”, stick it to your mailbox, and your life will become a little better.
