The STA reports. January 27, 2018, that Maren Lundby from Norway won Saturday's women's ski-jumping World Cup event in Ljubno ob Savinji, beating Germany's Katharina Althaus in second place and Sara Takanashi from Japan in third place. Ema Klinec was the best Slovenian in sixth place.
Lundby already made the longest jump in the first round, while Althaus and Takanashi were tied in second.
Klinec, the best Slovenian jumper today, was not "truly happy with either jump" and hopes to "fix it tomorrow", when the final World Cup event before the PyeongChang Olympics is held in Ljubno.
Placed immediately behind Klinec was Nika Križnar, who was happy with the result, although "there is still plenty of room for improvement".
"We managed another great team success ... Girls encourage each other and that's the way it should be," Križnar said in reference to two other Slovenian jumpers, Urša Bogataj and Špela Rogelj, making it to the top 15. Bogataj was 12th and Rogelj 13th.
In addition, Maja Vtič jumped to 24th and Jerneja Brecl to 27th place, while Katja Požun and Katra Komar failed to make it to the finals.
