The town of Arco, in Italy, played host to the IFSC Climbing World Cup over the weekend, an event that saw Slovenia’s Janja Garnbret continue her dominance of lead climbing, finishing in first place ahead of Jessica Pilz (Austria) and Anak Verhoeven (Belgium). This is the same order the athletes appear in the current overall rankings, with Granbret on 380 points, Pilz on 340, and Verhoeven on 181.
Turning to the men’s lead climbing event, this was won by Austria’s Jakob Schubert. Followed by Stefano Ghisolfi (Italy) and then Slovenia’s Domen Škofic. In the overall rankings, Schubert leads with 335 points, Ghisolfi has 286, and Alexander Megos 230. Škofic is in fourth place with 228,
The speed climbing events, which currently have no top Slovene competitors, where won by Iulia Kaplina (Russia) and Danyil Boldyrev (Ukraine).
