In December of 1973 a decision I made would have the most significant influence on the rest of my life. It would take me to all corners of the globe and bring me the happiest, and some of the saddest, times of my life and would eventually provide me with a beautiful family with the same outlook on adventure and enjoyment. In December 1973 I made my first parachute jump.
There's no reason to be bored if you're in town this week.
STA, 4 August 2018 - Slovenian soldiers serving in the UN mission in Lebanon came under attack by a sizeable group of armed individuals during a regular patrol this morning, but they have managed to deflect the assault unharmed and return to their base, the STA has learned from the Slovenian Armed Forces (SAF).
STA, 4 August 2018 – Matija Barl, a Slovenian actor and producer best known for his role of the child film character Kekec in the iconic 1951 film, has died, aged 78, according the news web portal of the broadcaster TV Slovenija.
STA, 4 August 2018 - The north-western town of Radovljica will host almost 50 musicians from ten countries for its 36th festival of early music which is opening tonight with a concert by German ensemble Capella de la Torre.
This week’s trip to the archives focused on Murska Sobota, coming back with some black and white images of the town and it’s people from the 1920s to 1960s.

STA, 3 August 2018 – Turkish contractor Cengiz Insaat Sanayi Ve Ticaret has been selected to build the Slovenian section of the second tube of the eight-kilometre Karavanke motorway tunnel linking Slovenia and Austria.
STA, 2 August 2018 - Last year was a record year for the Slovenian real estate market, with some 36,000 deals being made, according to a report by the Surveying and Mapping Authority. Sales reached EUR 2.3bn in total, matching the record amount from 2007.
STA, 2 August 2018 - In his first comment to the second round of coalition talks led by Marjan Šarec, Janez Janša did not rule out the possibility on Thursday that Slovenia would get a weak government, but he said it would not last.

Foggo III, who recently paid a visit to Slovenia, has told the STA in an interview that NATO is in an excellent shape despite the disagreements regarding higher defence spending. He also commended the Slovenian Armed Forces for their contribution to international operations or missions.
