STA, 23 August 2018 - The emerging coalition is determined to proceed with the plans to build the second rail track between Koper and Divača, a major infrastructure project worth around EUR 1bn. It would also like to modernise roads and railways, and gradually redirect cargo transport from roads to railways.
STA, 23 August 2018 - In a bid to make Slovenia's energy sector more efficient, the emerging government coalition will promote renewable sources of energy, chiefly water energy on the Sava river. Its environmental policy will, meanwhile, seek to keep Slovenia green but also attractive to sustainable investors. A green tax reform is also planned.

Its plans also entail changing public procurement, streamlining the civil service, and giving municipalities more powers.
STA, 22 August 2018 - The medieval town of Ptuj will host the annual Days of Poetry and Wine festival between Wednesday and Saturday. More than 55 admission-free events will be held around Slovenia's oldest town, featuring 22 poets from 16 countries.
