STA, 6 September 2018 - Police have arrested two persons on suspicion of incitement to violent change of constitutional order, a move that comes days after failed presidential candidate Andrej Šiško revealed he had put together a local militia having declared an independent land in Štajerska. 

STA, 5 September 2018 - The wood technology department of the Ljubljana Biotechnical Faculty is creating a new technology for developing improved coatings for wood based on the use of plasma. Professor Marko Petrič claims that the method of surface processing of wood and hardening of coatings is a novelty on the global scale.

STA, 4 September 2018 - Outgoing Interior Minister Vesna Györkös Žnidar has joined the strong condemnations of an attempt to form a paramilitary unit in the Štajerska region. She said any kind of parallel armed structures, spreading of hate and undermining of the Constitution and law were completely unacceptable.

STA, 5 September - The total number of people registered as unemployed with Slovenia's Employment Service has dropped again, to 75,920 at the end of August, 0.2% fewer than a month before and 9.4% fewer year-on-year. 

STA, 4 September 2018 - Slovenia is taking in the last three refugee families that fled Syria for Turkey, which means the country will fully meet the refugee resettlement plan adopted by the government in 2016. 

STA, 4 September 2018 - Interior minister candidate Boštjan Poklukar said his priorities would be control of migration and fighting crime as he presented himself to the relevant parliamentary committee. He said he was aware that the migration pressure remained a global challenge, which was also present in Slovenia given the large number of illegal crossings of the border. 

STA, 4 September - The National Public Health Institute (NIJZ) has confirmed one case of West Nile fever infection in Slovenia. The infected person is in home care, after being discharged from hospital. 

STA, 4 September 2018 - Foreign minister nominee Miro Cerar wants Slovenia to have an open, balanced and more uniform foreign policy. In his hearing at the parliamentary Foreign Affairs Committee on Tuesday he also pledged to strive for the implementation of the Croatian border arbitration decision. Cerar was backed with nine votes in favour and none against.
