STA, 18 May 2018 - Slovenia will be all about honey and bees this weekend as it marks the first World Bee Day, a celebration of pollinators that it initiated in memory of the 18th-century Slovenian beekeeping pioneer Anton Janša.

Ljubljana’s Trubarjeva cesta is known for it’s colourful character (and characters), but also, and increasingly, as the best place in the city to get ethnic food, with the offerings now including, but not limited to, Lebanese, Greek, Vietnamese, Thai, Chinese, Indian, and more, with much of the latter being provided by Skuhna, at #56, where in one recent week alone you could sample dishes from Nigeria, Bangladesh, Syria, Tunisia and Zimbabwe.
STA, 14 May 2018 - Slovenia's initiative to have the UN declare 20 May World Bee Day has helped raise awareness of the importance of bees, but a lot more will need to be done to create the conditions for their survival, the Slovenian Beekeepers' Association president Boštjan Noč told the STA in an interview.
