"Miro Cerar has resigned, problems remain": The date of the general election, expected on 10 June, will be moved forward somewhat after PM Miro Cerar resigned following a ruling of the Supreme Court that annulled a referendum on the Koper-Divača railway expansion, a government priority. "Judicial inquiry into five bankers": The Ljubljana District Court has launched an investigation into five former management board members led by Marjan Kramar over a EUR 6m loan to Serbian company Hipol Odžaci in 2007. In addition to Kramar, Andrej Hazabent, Matej Narat and Borut Stanič will also be investigated for potential abuse of office. (front page, 2)

"PM Miro Cerar resigns": Prime Minister Miro Cerar announced he would tender his resignation to President Borut Pahor on Thursday, after the Supreme Court ruled null and void a referendum on a railway expansion between the Koper port and the Divača hub. (front page, 2)

"Miro Cerar is history, second rail track remains": The Supreme Court has ruled: a new referendum will have to be held on the Koper-Divača railway upgrade. The biggest loser is PM Miro Cerar, who resigned yesterday, but construction companies also have a lot to lose, as the EUR 1bn project is at risk. (front page, 2, 3)
Due diligence in Gorenje
"Gorenje: Three Asians to conduct due diligence - it's a takeover not capital injection": Household appliance maker Gorenje has invited three Asian investors from the industry to conduct a due diligence of the Velenje-based company. According to unofficial but reliable information, Chinese giants Hefei Meiling and Haier are two of the invited companies, and Midea could be the third. Binding bids will be accepted until 8 May. Stock market
"Stock market bull made five euro out of one, can it make it ten?": Savings in equity investment have soared in the last nine years. Growth is one of the fastest in history and twice as fast as expected despite shocks caused lately mostly by US President Donald Trump. Does this bode further growth or does this warrant bold moves like those in The Big Short? (front page, 4, 5)

"PM Cerar resigns": "I'm giving power back into your hands," PM Miro Cerar said as he announced his resignation after the Supreme Court ruled the Koper-Divača railway expansion null and void. The decision was the last straw, according to Cerar, who said that he would not be part of such stories. (front page, 2)
Teachers strike
"'We insist, and we will insist until the end!'": Around 36,000 teachers went on a second strike in a month yesterday, and around 15,000 of them joined protest rallies in eleven towns across Slovenia to demand higher pay. The head of the powerful SVIZ trade union, Branimir Štrukelj, said they were happy because the strike was gaining momentum. (front page, 2, 3)

"This year again with stage on the Drava?": The city secured funds for a floating stage on the river Drava last year, and the works should have started by now. The city says the stage will be ready by the Lent festival, the biggest in the city, but it remains unclear who will manage it. (front page, 9)
