The STA has prepared the following schedule of events for the week from 5 to 11 February:
MONDAY, 5 February
LJUBLJANA - Luxembourg Prime Minister Xavier Bettel, Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte and Belgian Foreign Minister Didier Reynders will arrive in Slovenia for a Slovenia-Benelux summit.
LJUBLJANA - The Social Democrats (SD) will host a debate on the future of Slovenia featuring Chamber of Industry and Commerce (GZS) president Boštjan Gorjup and Lidija Jerkič, the head of the ZZZS trade union.
LJUBLJANA - The Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GZS) will present its position on pay demands in the public sector.
LJUBLJANA - The Employment Service will release January unemployment figures.
TUESDAY, 6 February
LJUBLJANA - Prime Minister Miro Cerar will host Luxembourg Prime Minister Xavier Bettel, Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte and Belgian Foreign Minister Didier Reynders for what is being billed as a Slovenia-Benelux summit.
LJUBLJANA - The parliamentary Foreign Policy Committee will debate the motion to sign an intergovernmental agreement with Hungary on cooperation in the construction of the Divača-Koper rail expansion.
VRHNIKA - The Slovenian Armed Forces will present the major military exercises planned in 2018.
LJUBLJANA - The Health Committee and the Commission for Oversight of Public Finances will examine the findings of an audit at UKC Ljubljana, Slovenia's largest hospital.
LJUBLJANA - The parliamentary Culture Committee will debate the financing of the arts.
LJUBLJANA - Pollster Valicon will present the results of a survey of Slovenians' online shopping habits.
WEDNESDAY, 7 February
LJUBLJANA - Weekly cabinet session.
LJUBLJANA - Foreign Policy Committee session.
LJUBLJANA - The parliamentary Health Committee will debate a motion by the Left to fully legalise marijuana.
LJUBLJANA - Prešeren Prizes will be handed out at the national ceremony on the eve of Culture Day.
LJUBLJANA - The Statistics Office will release January consumer price index data.
THURSDAY, 8 February
LJUBLJANA - Culture Day, a bank holiday.
FRIDAY, 9 February
KLAGENFURT, Austria - Minister for Slovenians Abroad Gorazd Žmavc and Infrastructure Minister Peter Gašperšič will meet members of the Slovenian minority in Austria to debate road and rail links between the two countries.
LJUBLJANA - The Statistics Office will release trade and industrial output figures for December.
SATURDAY, 10 February
PTUJ/CERKNICA/CERKNO - Carnival festivities will culminate as processions of costumes will wind their way through dozens of cities and towns around the country.
SUNDAY, 11 February
There are no major events scheduled.
