The STA has checked the calendar and prepared the following list of political, state and other events for the coming week:
MONDAY, 29 January
LJUBLJANA - The parliamentary Defence Committee will debate the outflow of soldiers from the standing force.
SEŽANA - The first dedicated LNG filling station for lorries will be inaugurated, a part of a pan-European network financed from the Connecting Europe Facility.
KOPER - Port operator Luka Koper will host a conference on the prospects for electrification of maritime transport.
LJUBLJANA - The Slovenian team for the PeyongChang Olympic Games will be presented.
LJUBLJANA - An exhibition entitled NeoRealismo - The New image in Italy, 1932-1960, which showcases Italian photography from the era, will be launched at the National Gallery.
TUESDAY, 30 January
LJUBLJANA - Montenegrin Defence Minister Predrag Boškovič will start a two-day visit to Slovenia.
BRDO PRI KRANJU - President Borut Pahor and Prime Minister Miro Cerar will host a reception for the diplomatic corps in Slovenia, traditionally held at the start of the year.
LJUBLJANA - The start of the European Futsal Championship; until 11 February.
LJUBLJANA - The parliamentary Economy Committee will debate bills on the promotion of investments and the promotion of tourism.
LJUBLJANA - The parliamentary Education Committee will mount the latest attempt to confirm amendments to the bill on the financing of education that govern state financing of private schools.
LJUBLJANA - AmCham, the US chamber of commerce, will host a panel on the benefits and downsides of the Slovenian health system.
KOPER - A ceremony will be held marking the 25th anniversary of the Slovenian navy.
WEDNESDAY, 31 January
LJUBLJANA - The parliamentary Foreign Policy Committee will debate the recognition of Palestine as an independent country.
LJUBLJANA - The parliamentary Commission for Oversight of Intelligence and Security Services will debate the work of foreign intelligence services in Slovenia. The session will be held behind closed doors.
LJUBLJANA - The Statistics Office will release tourism figures for 2017.
LJUBLJANA - Natour Alpe-Adria, a tourism and leisure fair, will open.
LJUBLJANA - MENT, which was recently declared the best small music festival in Europe, will start; until 2 February.
THURSDAY, 1 February
BRDO PRI KRANJU - Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabić, accompanied by a political and business delegation, will pay a working visit to Slovenia.
LJUBLJANA - The parliamentary Labour Committee will debate the reduction of child benefits in Austria at the request of the opposition Democrats (SDS).
LJUBLJANA - The parliamentary Agriculture, Forestry and Food Committee will debate a bill on measures to fight bark beetle.
LJUBLJANA - The parliamentary Finance and Monetary Policy Committee will debate the bill governing court procedures for holders of subordinated debt wiped out during the 2013 bank bailout.
LJUBLJANA - The parliamentary Health Committee will debate amendments to the act on healthcare and health insurance that would abolish top-up health insurance.
FRIDAY, 2 February
LJUBLJANA - The parliamentary Commission for National Communities will debate amendments to the act on special rights of the Italian and Hungarian minorities in education.
