Street performers
"Summer in Ljubljana: From cacophony to harmony": The streets of Ljubljana are flooded this summer not only with tourists but also with buskers. (front page, page 4)

Charlottesville anniversary protests
"State of emergency for a handful of extremists": A year after a deadly white nationalist rally in Charlottesville, a state of emergency was declared in this city in the US state of Virginia to prevent a new gathering of neo-Nazis and other extremists. These then headed for Washington, where they were met by far larger groups of anti-fascist protesters. (front page, page 3)

European Championships
"Silver Bertoncelj did not give up": Team Slovenia won two medals at the European Championships in six sports in Glasgow. After swimmer Peter John Stevens won bronze, Sašo Bertoncelj took silver in the pommel horse event at the Championships in Artistic Gymnastics. (front page)

Youth suicide
"It's necessary to talk about pain": Slovenia's suicide rate dropped in a decade to an all-time low of 371 in 2016, but then rose again the next year. The increase does not necessarily indicate a new negative trend, but the cause for concern is an increase in suicides among young people. (front page, page 2)
