The winners of The Slovenia Restaurant Awards 2018 were announced in Ljubljana yesterday, the original shortlist having been proposed by a group of culinary experts, namely Janez Bogataj, Aleš Gačnik, Noah Charney, Helena Cvikl and Iva Gruden, which was then subjected to a vote by both chefs and foodies, as well as the public, with the results certified by the accounting firm Deloitte.
The regional winners were as follows: Gostilna Krištof for the north of Slovenia, Ošterija Debeluh for the south, Hiša Denk for the east, Hiša Franko for the west, and Restavracija Strelec for Ljubljana and its environs. The overall national winners were Hiša Franko, Ošterija Debeluh and Pri Lojzetu, while the winner of popular vote was Galerija Okusov.
