Tourism in Ljubljana is on the rise, as more and more tourists are learning about one of the quaintest (and pedestrian-friendly) capital cities in Europe. A lively tourism programme, as well as an increase in low-cost flights to the neighbouring airport have helped to spike that interest, and many visitors marvel at the historic core of the city, which oozes charm either side of the Ljubljanica.
How did the city look in the past? Check out this rare footage (possibly the earliest available) of central Ljubljana way back in 1909, a time when trams still plied their trade in the city centre.
