The summer festivals were on our mind as we made our trip back to the archives this week, and rather than street performers we came back with sights you rarely see in Europe anymore – animals at work in the circus, along with some human performers. A lost world, and one unmourned, but hopefully of interest. As ever, all images are sourced from Wikimedia, with the photographers credited if known.
