The travelling version of the food market makes its next appearance at Koper this weekend, on Saturday April 21, and then moves not far to Nova Gorica for Wednesday April 25. The event in Koper runs from 11:00 to 21:00, and takes place in the market and Carpacci Square, while that in Nova Gorica starts a little earlier, with the fun lasting from 10:00 to 21:00 in Bevkov trg (with maps at the end of this text).

While the delights on offer, in terms of both food and drink, are too numerous to list in full, be assured there's something for all tastes. However, the organisers are highlighting an appearance by Skuhna, a mainstay of Tribarjeva cesta's ethnic food scene in Ljubljana. Their stall is expected to offer Puerto Rican sandwiches, Nigerian snacks, drinks from Tunisia and Colombia, and a real Zimbabwean lunch.
Also present will be the Tabay Brothers, as enjoyed by your correspondent last week, while Kuhinje Krušič will also be on hand to serve some of their famous horsemeat dishes, including what’s being promoted as “a juicy foal burger”. Visitors can also expect creative desserts from Torterije, have the chance to sample Japanese food from Nonbiri – including Japanese cheesecake, a soufflé-like affair – as well as the usual gourmet burgers and craft beers that remain among the most popular items at Open Kitchen events, along with wines, cocktails, juices, and various Slovenian dishes.
And if you can't make it to the coast, then check out Open Kitchen every Friday in Ljubljana's Pogačarjev trg, the market square by the river, and you can find out new locations by following the team on Facebook.
