STA, February 28, 2018 - Slovenia's GDP per capita in purchasing power standards reached 83% of the EU average in 2016, show data released by Eurostat (full report here). Western Slovenia reached 99% of the EU average, while Eastern Slovenia only reached 68%.
In absolute numbers, Slovenia generated EUR 19,600 in GDP per capita in 2016. In Western Slovenia GDP PPP topped EUR 23,400 and in Eastern Slovenia EUR 16,200.
Faring the best out of 276 regions was western Inner London - West with 611% of the EU average, followed by Luxembourg with 257%, Southern and Eastern Ireland with 217%.
The top ten regions also include Brussels and Hamburg (both 200%), Bratislava (184%), Prague (182%), Upper Bavaria (177%), Ile de France (175%) and Stockholm (173%).
The list is bottomed by North West Bulgaria, reaching only 29% of the EU average, France's Mayotte (33%), North Central and South Central Bulgaria (both 34%) and North-Eastern Romania (36%).
