The Castle, which is the city’s main tourist attraction, as well as being a cultural centre for residents, sold 27.4% of its tickets to domestic visitors and 72.6% to foreigners, with most of these coming from Italy, followed by the UK, Germany, the USA, France and Korea.

As well as the charms of the Castle, including tours and exhibitions, the site also drew many visitors over the summer with a series of special events, including concerts, movies under the stars and dancing, a programme that continues through the winter months with, for example, the regular jazz concerts on Friday evenings (details).
In a sign of its status as one of the country’s leading attractions, Ljubljana Castle will be playing a key role at the World Travel Market (WTM) event to be held in London in early November, as part of a presentation on Slovenian cultural heritage.
