The foreign trade surplus in July was the highest this year, reaching EUR 141.4m. This can be attributed to the surplus in trade with non-EU countries, standing at EUR 87.6m, the office said.
The exports-to-imports ratio in July reached 105.5%.
In the first seven months of the year, both exports and imports increased by 11.6%. The country exported EUR 18.1bn of goods, while importing EUR 17.7bn.
The foreign trade surplus in the January-July period was EUR 477.6m and the exports-to-imports ratio was at 102.7%.
In July, 77.2% of all exports and 79.4% of all imports was generated in trade with other EU countries. The value of goods exported to EU member states in July topped EUR 2.1bn. Imports from EU countries meanwhile reached EUR 2bn.
This means a surplus in trade with EU member states of EUR 53.8m.
Exports to the EU rose by 16.8% year-on-year in July, while imports increased by 15.2%.
Slovenia also exported EUR 619.7m worth of goods to third countries in July, while importing EUR 532.1m worth of goods.
Export to non-EU countries was up by 14.7% in annual comparison and import by 15.2%. The growth of imports from non-EU countries was thus the same as the growth of imports from the member states.
