STA, 17 June 2018 - Democrats (SDS) leader and potential Slovenian PM-designate Janez Janša met with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban in Budapest on Saturday. The SDS said Janša paid a private visit to Orban in the company of his wife, while the meeting in Hungary's parliament building also included a conference call with US President Donald Trump.
Rather than forming a coalition, the person leading the party with the highest share of the vote in the 2018 elections, Janez Janša, seems to be more interested in making changes to the electoral system.
STA, 11 June 2018 - Slovenian voters cast 2,473 valid general election ballots at diplomatic and consular offices abroad. The largest number of votes, 720, went to the election winner, the Democrats (SDS), while another right-leaning party, New Slovenia (NSi), came second with 438 votes, the National Electoral Commission said on Monday.
STA, 7 June 2018 - President Borut Pahor argues in an interview for Primorske novice, published before his post-election meeting today with the relative winner Janez Janša of the Democrats (SDS), that it would be more useful "and easier for everyone if the winner of the election is successful in his effort to form a government".

STA, 3 June 2018 - The preliminary results of Sunday's general election confirmed a convincing win for the right-wing Democrats (SDS) and second place for newcomer LMŠ. As many as nine parties are set to enter parliament and the constellations indicate major coalition building problems. Turnout after 95% of the votes counted is at a historic low 49.88%.
