This week’s photo is an other-worldly shot of Vogel Ski Resort in Bohinj, taken with no filter on a Huawei P10 smartphone. It comes from eye and lens of Matevž Pisnik, a non-professional photographer whose Instagram shows an active man with a range of sporting interests.
As we head into the weekend we hope this image encourages you to get out and enjoy the last days of winter, take in deep breaths of the clean air that living Slovenia affords, and perhaps pull out your phone and capture a little of the magic this small and varied country has to offer, occupying the land between the Pannonian plain in the East and the most northerly bay in the Adriatic in the West, bounded by the Alps in the North and the Dinaric mountains to the South, a land – as we hope these weekly posts show, of remarkable beauty.
